English Mastiff

Weighing about 250 pounds with an average height of 30 inches, this breed originated in Asia and are used for hunting purposes. They are patient, good family companions, and are one of the largest dog breeds in the world. The heaviest in world history named Zorba, weighed 343 pounds.

Irish Wolfhound

This is the tallest of all dog breeds; with an imposing height of between 30-35 inches, and weighing up to 140 pounds. The Irish wolfhound originated in Ireland for the purpose of hunting. This ancient breed dates as far back as 7000 BC. It is a reserved and easygoing dog.

St. Bernard

This breed stands at a height of between 25-30 inches, and weighs between 140-180 pounds. These giant dogs originated in Switzerland as a rescue dogs. They are gentle, and very tolerant with children; this makes them great family dogs.

Leonberger

This is the offspring of the crossbreed of St. Bernard, Newfoundland, and Great Pyreness. It originated in Leonberg, Germany; weighing up to 170 pounds, and a height of 27-31 inches. They have potentials to be excellent therapy dogs, and are fast learners.

Boerboel

This breed originated in South Africa. It weighs up to 220 pounds, and has a height of about 27 inches. They have strong territorial instincts, highly intelligent, and are obedient. They require proper socialization with their owners, and therefore, are not recommended for first-time dog owners.
